The expert guides at Aillwee Cave lead 35 minute tours that enable you to see the very best of the caverns, including bridged chasms, unusual rock formations and impressive waterfalls. You will find out more about the history of this area, including the brown bears that lived here many years ago, and leave knowing that you have seen some of Ireland’s ancient magic.

Visit the Birds of Prey Centre. The Birds of Prey Centre here in the Burren offers a great chance to see native birds of prey alongside eagles, falcons, hawks and owls from all over the world. You can witness flying displays, find out more about falconry and see how birds are conserved on the Burren all year round.

Take a Hawk Walk. Here on Aillwee Mountain, you can try this once in a lifetime opportunity and learn how to interact with the incredible predator, the Harris Hawk. This is a 45 minute activity that does not require any previous experience, and should be booked 1-2 days in advance by emailing tracy@aillweecave.ie.

Explore the farm shop. The delicious local produce that makes up the Burren Food Trail includes Burren Gold Cheese, made at Aillwee Cave Farm shop. We always recommend taking the Food Trail when you are visiting the area, as this is a wonderful way to discover traditional cuisine, exploring the countryside that has been producing such delicacies for many years.
